Work on Téréli Dispensary 2011
Over the last 6 years BTFT has worked closely with Coup de Pouce and ‘Association des Eléves et Etudiants Ressortissants de Téréli, Pèguè et Sympathisants’ (AEERTPS). This is a group of parents and older students in Téréli who are working to provide better opportunities for their community. Sharing resources has been of great benefit to everyone involved.
In September 2010 AEERTPS organized the Health Awareness Programme. As well as free consultations they looked at causes of malnutrition and showed how local produce could be used to provide more nutrients in their diet. Practical suggestions and recipes were given.
We were made aware of work that needed to be undertaken on the Dispensary in Téréli. There has been a request for more Medical Equipment but the repairs to the building had to be completed first.
Work started on the repairs early in 2011. Many members of AEERTPS were involved with this work.
After this was completed medical equipment, solar panel and fridge were bought for the Dispensary.
May 2012. We have received more details about the Dispensary in Téréli. During the first three months since it opened after the refurbishment 316 patients have had consultations. People in several nearby villages have been helped.
