Burley Library now has copies of –
‘A Most Unlikely Friendship‘ by Mirella Moxon
‘DOGON Africa‘s People of the Cliffs‘ by Walter Van Beek and photographer Stephanie Hollyman

As part of our 25th Anniversary Celebration, BTFT gifted our book ‘A Most Unlikely Friendship‘ and ‘DOGON Africa‘s People of the Cliff‘ to Burley Library. The first book tells the story of the link Burley has with a village Téréli situated in the Dogon area of Mali, West Africa. It was particularly appropriate to give the books this year when Bradford is City of Culture. The Bandiagara Cliffs where Téréli is situated is a World Heritage Site.
Library Manager Abi enthusiastically welcomed the additions.

The Dogon book – Africa‘s People of the Cliffs – is a beautifully illustrated book with 125 full colour photos.
The Dogon people of Mali in West Africa are noted for their colourful masked dances and ceremonies, a distinctive adobe architecture, and a tightly-knit social structure. They live in a remarkable area, making their homes along a 200-kilometer cliff face which runs like a wall across the land. The spectacular photographs illustrate this so well.
